Full Bus Wrap Design with Step-and-Repeat
TRIMSPA purchased a tour bus as Anna Nicole’s transportation as she traveled across the nation promoting the weight loss pill she credited with her comeback. But it couldn’t just be a tour bus—it had to be a 360º billboard on wheels.
APPROACH & OUTCOME
The creative task at hand was to design a full-coverage vehicle wrap for the tour bus and incorporate a step-and-repeat feature near the door to enhance brand awareness during arrival and departure press opportunities. A design was crafted that was highly visible and intended to remain on-brand for a reasonable period. No two sides of the bus were the same, providing added intrigue for starstruck onlookers.
The design leaned into the core TRIMSPA brand visual elements, maintaining visual consistency with recent and upcoming nationwide brand creative. The wrap design incorporated layered images from TRIMSPA’s second photo shoot with spokesmodel Anna Nicole Smith. On the passenger side of the bus, TRIMSPA X32 logos of varying sizes were juxtaposed onto a high-contrast black background at the door for maximum visibility at a variety of distances. The integration of an impromptu step-and-repeat board made for an easy PR win whenever the wildly popular spokesmodel boarded or exited the bus in public.
This vehicle wrap effectively served as a traveling billboard, frequently eliciting long stares as it drove by with its infamous passenger, Anna Nicole Smith, appearing larger than life and on board and on her way to scheduled appearances around the country. Additional ancillary vehicles were fully wrapped in coordinating creative for a “fleet” feeling when TRIMSPA rolled into town.
This work contributed to peak revenue performance achieved from 2002-2004, when annual sales revenue increased 168% to $43 million.
