INTRO & GOAL
Responding to lingering mental health struggles within our community post-COVID, passionate Y volunteers sought to curate vital mental health and whole-person well-being services and support, leveraging the Y to distribute community-based information. Volunteers had the content. What they needed was a Y-friendly vehicle for sharing.
STRATEGY & PROCESS
Marketing collaborated with volunteers, recommending WELLTOGETHER (one word, all caps) for the final name of the 100% volunteer-led initiative. When agreed upon, concepts for the graphic were shared for review and selection.
SOLUTION & OUTCOME
The name “WELLTOGETHER” is an intentional nod to the naming convention of the nationwide Y member-led volunteer program, TOGETHERHOOD™, and is intended to evoke feelings of familiarity and trust. The final graphic is fully Y-compliant. The WELLTOGETHER initiative began at Somerset Hills YMCA as a monthly newsletter on mental health and related whole-person wellness content. It was quickly promoted across all seven branches within Greater Somerset County YMCA.
